We are pleased to share a new update on the Sargassum Deflector Barrier project.
Last Saturday, August 1st, we received confirmation from the supplier that the barrier has begun its maritime transport to the shores of Progreso, Yucatán, as part of the logistical route prior to its arrival in Puerto Aventuras.
According to the information received, its arrival at the port of Progreso is scheduled for September 2nd, from where the necessary process for its subsequent transport and installation in our community will continue. As we progress through the following stages, we will be sharing new updates.
Work on our beaches continues
As this important project continues to advance, in Puerto Aventuras we are permanently maintaining beach cleaning efforts to address the arrival of sargassum and keep our spaces in the best possible condition.
We want to express a special thanks to ZOFEMAT, whose support and collaboration have been fundamental in strengthening these efforts. Thanks to the coordinated work between both institutions, it has been possible to reinforce cleaning efforts and respond more efficiently to the conditions present on our beaches. Just last week, 100 tons of sargassum were removed from our beaches.
We also thank all the staff who participate daily in these efforts and the community for their understanding and support as we continue to promote actions that contribute to the care of our environment.
We will continue to inform you in a timely manner about the progress of the barrier project and the actions being taken to protect the beaches of Puerto Aventuras.
Good Puerto 💙
