Progress in the review of the electrical infrastructure in Puerto Aventuras
As part of the efforts to strengthen the reliability of the electrical service in Puerto Aventuras, onThursday, February 26we received an inspection visit from theFederal Electricity Commission (CFE), represented byEngineer Joaquín Villamonte, who came at the request of theCFE Superintendent in Playa del Carmen, Engineer Dan Barragán.
This visit was made in response to the request presented by the community to review the conditions of theexisting overhead electrical infrastructureand evaluate possible actions to improve its operation and reduce the risk of failures.
During the tour, various components of the electrical network were reviewed, with special attention to three main aspects:
Damaged poles, identifying those that show damage or require attention.
Transformers and walls, assessing their current state and operating conditions.
High pruning, necessary to prevent interference with the electrical lines.
As a result of this visit, Engineer Villamonte will prepare a technical reportaddressed to the CFE Superintendent with the actions that, based on his assessment, are considered necessary to strengthen the infrastructure and reduce the risk of blackouts or other failures. dirigido al Superintendente de CFE con las acciones que, desde su evaluación, se consideran necesarias para fortalecer la infraestructura y reducir el riesgo de apagones u otras fallas.
We are currentlyawaiting the work plan that will result from this visit, which we will share with the community as soon as we receive additional information.
Additionally, the Superintendent of CFE reported thatnext week a meeting will be held in Playa del Carmento review the progress and analyze theproject to convert the medium voltage network from overhead to underground, an initiative aimed at improving the safety, reliability, and resilience of the electrical system in the future.
